am pleased to confirm that the Tunbridge Wells Policy Discussion Forum will be starting again for its 2016/17 winter season.
The first meeting will be on Wednesday 28 September 2016 in the upstairs Committee Room, Tunbridge Wells Constitutional Club, Sandrock Road TN2 3PX commencing at 7.30pm. If you would like to attend this meeting and are not a member of the Constitutional Club please park your car along the left hand side of the Club facing the hedgerow. The parking spaces directly in front of the Club are reserved for members only. There is no charge to attend.
The subject for discussion at this meeting will be Devolution; this will include national devolution (i.e. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) as well as local devolution particularly the transfer of powers from government to local councils.
We are also pleased to announce a new Chairman for the Discussion Forum; Councillor Joe Simmons. Joe represents Southborough North on the Borough Council and was a Senior Lecturer in Business at the London Metropolitan University. Those who know Joe will appreciate he has an enquiring mind and the academic clarity required to chair such a group and encourage a lively and interesting discussion.
The first meeting will be Chaired by Thelma Huggett with Joe in attendance.
